Within 24 hours of unveiling Redmi 1S in Indonesia, Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, has announced the launch of Redmi 1S in Philippines. Xiaomi Global VP Hugo Barra presented Redmi 1S in a press event to the country. The smartphone has been priced at Php5,599 and will be sold exclusively at online retailer Lazada at 1200 hours on September 4.
Coming to the specifications, the phone runs on Android 4.3-based MIUI v5 and is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. In addition, it comes with a 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with an option to expand via microSD card and 2000 mAh battery. It also packs 8MP rear camera, and 1.6MP front camera.
In terms of connectivity options, it offers 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG connectivity.
