Xiaomi today revealed that it is going to enter the Indonesian market. The company announced their next destination via the official Twitter account. It will be the eighth market for the company, already operates in countries like China, India and Singapore.
Although unconfirmed, Xiaomi is expected to tie-up with an e-retailer in the country to sell its products like it did in India with Flipkart. There is also no news about the products that will available for sale.
To remind you, Xiaomi currently operates in China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore and will be heading to six more countries apart from Indonesia this year. These six countries are Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico.
Xiaomi devices are expected to be more expensive in Indonesia because of the VAT and prepaid income tax but the official prices are still a mystery. Xiaomi has also launched their website for the country, where can be seen here.
