HTC Corporation, the Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets, officially unveiled its new smartphone J butterfly HTL23 aka HTC Butterfly 2 at a press event in Japan today. Both smartphones are basically the same but J Butterfly will be released on telecom operator KDDI in Japan while Butterfly 2 will be arriving in South Asia.
HTC Butterfly 2 will released in Taiwan via Chunghwa Telecom on September 2 and will also be sold through major retailers in Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
Coming to the specifications, the phones run on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) and powered by 2.5 GHz, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. In addition, the smartphones come with 5.0-inch full HD 1080p display and 4G LTE support. They also pack 2GB of RAM, 16/ 32GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for expanding the memory up to 128GB.
In addition, the phones are featured with the latest HTC Sense 6 experience, HTC Duo Camera for advanced imaging (13MP rear camera plus depth sensor).
