HTC Butterfly launched in Taiwan for NT$22,990

HTC has launched its new flagship Butterfly in the home country today. The smartphone has been priced at NT$22,990 (USD 790 approx.). Featuring quad-core processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, HTC Butterfly will be available some time before the end-of-year in the market.

HTC has already released the phone in China and Japan countries in Asia. There is no word about the availability in other Asian countries, but we can speculate that it should start selling by January in most of the important HTC markets like India, Singapore and more.

“We are confident that HTC Butterfly will set a new example for high-end smartphones,” chief executive Peter Chou said at the launch in Taipei.

To remind you, HTC Butterfly comes with 5-inch Super LCD 3 FHD display, HSPA+ connectivity, 8MP rear camera, front camera, and 2020 mAH battery.

It will be sold in Black, White and Brown colours in Taiwan.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Tab 7.7 arriving in Singapore on Feb 11

Samsung is finally going to release Galaxy Nexus on February 11 in Singapore. Considering the delay, company has decided to launch both White and Black color versions in the country. Asus Eee Pad MeMo ME171 to go on sale in Taiwan next month

Asus Eee Pad MeMo ME171 Asus has announced that Eee Pad MeMo ME171 will reach Taiwan stores in March/April. Company has not revealed the pricing right now and will be known closer to the launch.

Samsung sells 700,000 Galaxy Note units in South Korea

Samsung has announced that it has sold over 700,000 units of Galaxy Note smartphone in the hone country South Korea till now. Company, which also started selling the LTE enable model of Note in the country, has captured 66pc of the LTE market in January. It is significant because LG’s Optimus LTE has been selling pretty well in South Korea and is a direct competitor to Galaxy Note. Koobe, Qualcomm launch Android powered Mirasol ‘Jin Yong E-Reader’

Qualcomm and Taiwanese company Koobe have released the fourth device with Mirasol display technology. Powered by Android 2.3 (custom UI on top), Koobe Jin Yong Reader features a 5.7 inch “XGA” touchscreen display  with 1024x728p resolution, and 1GHz Snapdragon S2 processor.
